Editor's Note.

The Roll of Service of The Buchanan Society includes the
names of 26 Members and 83 Relatives of Members who are
serving, or who have served, with His Majesty's Forces at home
or abroad. Some had already made the Army or Navy their
profession; the majority have laid aside their civilian career
and given their services to King and Country in the present War.

The Society is proud of all who have so honoured the
name of Buchanan, and of those especially who have already
given proof of their quality by valour and heroism even unto
death in our fighting line in France, Flanders, Gallipoli, Africa,
and Mesopotamia.

Our thoughts turn with pride and regret to those who have

fallen in the field of honour and go out in fervent sympathy

to the bereaved.
